Privacy Policy

This first public version is intentionally light on personal data.

No accounts yet

NI Food Compass does not currently provide public user accounts or store named user shopping baskets on the server.

Local basket storage

Shopping baskets, named basket lists, and regular-buy favourites are stored in your own browser local storage. They are not shared with other visitors by NI Food Compass. Clearing your browser data may remove them.

Anonymous browser session

The site creates a random anonymous browser session ID so local basket/favourite storage and performance checks can stay separated. This is not a login account and does not contain your name or email address.

Operational telemetry

We collect anonymous loading-time and API-duration measurements so we can improve performance. We do not collect names, emails, basket contents, or personal identifiers in this telemetry.

Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics may be used to understand aggregate site traffic without adding advertising cookies. If enabled, it is used for operational insight only.

Future account data

If accounts are enabled later, the site may store your email address, saved baskets, dietary preferences, favourite shops, subscription status, login sessions, and account audit events. This is not enabled for public users yet.

Future export and deletion rights

Before public login is enabled, NI Food Compass should provide a clear way to request account export, account deletion, and subscription support. Account deletion should remove saved baskets and preferences unless legal or payment records must be retained separately.

Payments

Optional supporter payments are handled through Stripe. NI Food Compass should not store card numbers. Stripe may process payment details under its own terms and privacy rules.
