Check the fridge first
Look through your fridge, freezer and cupboards before making a list. Plan the next few meals around ingredients you already have and use anything that needs eating soon.
Start with the repeat buys
Paste your repeat buys into the planner, one per line. Specify amounts such as “6 bananas”, “bread 800 g” or “milk 2 l”. Review the normalized list: standard quantities are added to recognised staples when no amount is given, and duplicate lines are combined. Choose a starter list or use your saved favourites, then review every suggested product. Set a weekly budget to track the amount remaining as you add groceries.
- Plan meals before adding snacks and extras.
- Choose quantities you can use or store.
- Keep a little room in the budget for items outside the list.
Think about the whole trip
A lower price at a second supermarket may not justify extra travel, parking or delivery costs. In the planner, enter your estimated cost per extra stop. It adds this once for each shop after the first. Plan totals include these extra costs; your saved basket total includes groceries only.
Keep the final check simple
Review quantities, check the capture dates and open the retailer links for any important offers. Download the list before you leave. Prices in the saved snapshot are estimates for planning, not a checkout quote.
