Planned Account Data and Controls

NI Food Compass accounts are being prepared carefully, but public login is not switched on yet.

Current state

There are no public server-side accounts yet. Your shopping basket is currently stored in your own browser, not in a shared public account system.

What a future account may store

A future account may store your email address, saved baskets, basket items, favourite shops, dietary filters, subscription status, login sessions, and audit events needed for account security.

What should not be stored

The site should not store card numbers. Payments should be handled by Stripe. Performance telemetry should stay anonymous and should not include basket contents or personal identifiers.

Export

Before accounts are enabled, there should be a way to export saved baskets, preferences, and basic account details in a readable format.

Deletion

Before accounts are enabled, there should be a way to request deletion of the account, saved baskets, preferences, and active sessions. Payment/legal records may need separate retention rules through Stripe or accounting records.

Launch gate

Public login should remain disabled until privacy wording, email delivery, abuse controls, backups, export, deletion, and Stripe account linkage are tested.
